My clinical experience ranges from individual to couple and family therapy. I have experience working with children and adolescents, ages 6-21, to address emotional and behavioral concerns. I also work with couples to address numerous relationship issues. I specialize in working with couples and families to improve communication skills, resolve conflicts, and manage interpersonal issues. I have worked with families in many different settings, including outpatient, in-home and in
schools. One of my areas of interest is helping individuals and families understand substance abuse and how addiction can impact the family relationships. I have experience working in both outpatient and residential/inpatient drug treatment programs.
My passion lies in prevention work with clients. I feel that the sooner a problem or issue is addressed, the better the outcome will be for the individual, couple and family. For example, "at-risk" behaviors in children and adolescents (acting out, skipping school, low or failing grades, running away, etc.) need to be addressed as they occur. This early intervention will result in significantly improved outcomes as he/she matures. If these behaviors are not addressed, they can easily progress into more serious problems. Research shows that if we intervene early and quickly, we are more likely to provide positive affects on an adolescent's emotional growth, relationships, intellectual development, and overall well-being.
Improving the emotional well-being of individuals, couples and families by providing intervention and treatment will help improve job/school performance, marital, family and social relationships, and go a long way toward preventing long-term mental health problems.

Therapeutic Focus
I use a strength based, client-centered approach with individuals, couples and families during therapy. I feel that it is important to understand what the client, couple, and/or family is hoping to achieve from the therapy and then work with them to create a plan to reach their goals.
Education
I received my Bachelors degree in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Women’s Studies from the University of Connecticut in Storrs, CT. I received my Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliant International University in San Diego, CA.
